LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -City leaders are working with a collaborative team made up of nationally recognized design leadership and local expertise to plan a new downtown district.
The team will focus on urban and landscape design, architecture, engineering and community engagement.
The Wolfforth Economic Development Corporation bought 46 acres of land in July for the new downtown district.
The city’s master plan outlines use for that space, the existing Patterson Park, and adjacent undeveloped land to become a community destination.
The plan includes building a new city hall and creating parks, open spaces, housing, new businesses and dining locations.
