The time has come for those of us who have been waiting for the Casa Linda Plaza location of maman (lowercased on purpose) to open.

The French-inspired, New York City-based café and bakery is set to open with an 8 a.m. ribbon cutting Thursday, Oct. 15 at 1152 N. Buckner Blvd., Suite 124. The first 100 customers are expected to receive a tote and chocolate chip cookie, according to a press release. Opening day will also feature pop-ups from Charmed Haven from 10 a.m. to noon, which is offering croissant charms to the first 50 customers with $20 purchases, and Yarn & Co. from 1-3 p.m.

We reported on this new location in February. Less than a month later, we received word that there would be another East Dallas location in Lakewood, and that opened in April. In all, the Casa Linda shop is maman’s fourth in the Dallas area so far.

“Casa Linda is such a vibrant community in Dallas, and we’re thrilled for maman to join the neighborhood,” co-founder Elisa Marshall said in a press release. “Dallas has welcomed us since we opened our doors in 2024. We can’t wait to bring our pastries and coffee and hope to become our neighbors’ home away from home.”

The menu features pastries, salads, sandwiches, espresso, tea and seasonal drinks. Here are some of the Dallas-exclusive and autumn offerings, according to the press release:

Magnolia Sweet Tea Fizz: a cold-steeped magnolia bud tea made with Topo Chico, sweetened with local Texas wildflower honey syrup and served with a lemon wedge and fresh mint.
Lone Star Cinnamon Bun: pastry filled with cinnamon sugar and topped with a vanilla glaze and pastry star
Salted Caramel Pecan Pie Roll: pastry swirled with salted caramel, vanilla and toasted southern pecans
Blueberry Lavender Muffin: topped with buttery crumble and powdered sugar
Pumpkin Pie Croissant Cube: a laminated croissant cube filled with pumpkin pie buttercream, topped with torched meringue and sprinkled with pie crust crumbles
Maple French Toast Latte: with Grade A New England dark maple syrup reduced and infused with butter, vanilla bean, cinnamon, nutmeg and fleur de sel

maman is also known for its decor, the “signature South of France provincial aesthetic,” and the Casa Linda location will be no different. The store is 2,366 square feet and can seat 50 people. There is also an outdoor patio for 12.

“The thoughtfully designed space features vintage-inspired furnishings, warm wood tones, maman’s iconic blue toile details, custom toile-printed espresso machines and will be complemented by custom floral installations from Floratorium, inspired by the Texas bluebonnet,” according to the press release. “Casa Linda’s maman can’t be missed, as the exterior facade is covered by a gorgeous floral mural painted by Joel Haynes Art. Designed for both everyday visits and special occasions, maman Casa Linda will offer an inviting setting for guests to gather, as well as catering services.”

The café is expected to be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. The kitchen closes at 4 p.m. daily.
