Boots and Booze offers everything one could need for a night in Deep Ellum.

Come October 23, Boots & Booze will officially open at 3014 Main Street in Deep Ellum. Combining a walk-up window and outdoor gathering space, it is the first concept from Wush Hospitality Group. Its all-day menu will offer a sandwich-heavy selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as coffee and adult beverages, served al fresco in a pet-friendly, turf-covered courtyard.
It’s a familiar theme, but two things in particular make Boots & Booze noteworthy: the location has a wedding chapel.
To the first point, it’s no newsflash that Deep Ellum has been going through it lately. Again. There’s the multiyear construction project on Commerce, predatory parking problems, and many bar and restaurant closures following a particularly rough summer. Even so, the decision to locate Boots & Booze at Main and Hall was “very intentional,” according to Wish Hospitality co-founder Sherry Hazrati.
“We were particularly drawn to the northernmost part of Deep Ellum for a reason that extends beyond nightlife,” she says. “We don’t want to be known simply as another late-night bar. We want to be a place that serves the people who work, live, study, and spend their days in this neighborhood.”

Hazrati calls out Baylor University Medical Center and Texas A&M College of Dentistry just to the north, each with a steady daytime stream of healthcare professionals, students and patients. On location, Boots & Booze is just across the street from Terry Black’s Barbecue. Not a bad choice to draft off that restaurant’s widely publicized World Cup momentum.
The Shotgun Wedding Chapel
Moving on to the “Shotgun Wedding Chapel,” it’s a feature that will complement the live entertainment, game day viewing, and additional programming planned in the courtyard. Emblazoned with the phrase “Till Death or Last Call,” it’s a kitschy feature, to be sure, but also fully-functional. Several wedding packages will be offered, starting with a “simple, intimate ceremony” for about $350. Divorce parties will also be available, because, well, the circle of life.
Last weekend, in advance of the official opening day, Hazrati and the team hosted a Texas-OU pop-up. She reports that the event offered a “valuable operational experience and guest feedback,” while launching what she hopes will become an annual gameday tradition. Up next, the Boots & Booze Grand Opening celebration kicks off at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 23. An expanded restaurant concept next door to the courtyard is planned to open later this year.
