EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — James Talarico, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, is scheduled to make another campaign stop in El Paso just days before the Nov. 3 midterm election.

Talarico has visited El Paso several times during the campaign. He is locked in a high-stakes duel with Republican Ken Paxton, the state’s long-time attorney general.

Talarico is scheduled to visit El Paso on Monday, Oct. 26 for what is being called the “Clear Eyes Full Hearts” tour. No other details have been announced about Talarico’s visit at this time.

The tour will kick off Sunday in Plano.

“Texans are tired of being divided into teams — red versus blue, left versus right, rural versus urban,” Talarico said in a news release announcing the tour. “That’s why we’re traveling across the state to unite working people onto one team. I encourage Texans across the political spectrum to join us at one of our stops as we work to defeat the politics of division.”

The Texas Tribune reported this week that most polls have Talarico ahead of Paxton. The last time a Democrat has won a statewide race in Texas was back in 1994.

President Trump has visited Texas three times in the past month to support Paxton and stir up the Republican base.

Talarico’s campaign said the 20-city tour embodies the spirit of the Texas classic “Friday Night Lights” football — Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose, the Talarico campaign said.
