Two people previously arrested in connection with a residential arson have been rebooked on additional animal cruelty charges.

The Horizon City Police Department said the two individuals were Jesus Adrian Servin, 23, and Ruby Leann Hernandez, 17.

Both were rebooked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on October 16.

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for both suspects on October 15, charging them with cruelty to non-livestock animals.

The charges stem from a July 2 fire at a home on Desert Silver Drive in Horizon City.

The fire caused extensive property damage and resulted in the death of the family’s cat, according to police.
