The approximately 65,000-square-foot venue will be located in River Park, an upcoming 109-acre mixed-use district developed by Presidium Group. The district will include housing, offices, restaurants and retail spaces along Riverside Drive.

“Anytime you add a new place to play, you tap into the people that call Austin home and make their livelihood in and around music here. It’s another space for there to be opportunity for all of those folks, and we welcome that,” Shawn Trell, executive vice president and chief operations officer of AEG Presents, told the American-Statesman last year.

AEG Presents is also set to lease the space currently occupied by Emo’s at 2015 E. Riverside Dr. The company plans to transform the building, just down the street from United Heritage Hall, into a new music venue beginning in January 2027.

AEG Presents, a subsidiary of Anschutz Entertainment Group, is the second-largest concert promoter in the U.S., after Live Nation. Emo’s is one of three Austin music venues owned by Live Nation, which has announced plans to move the club downtown.

“We’re going to really focus on genres that are underserved. I want to book a lot of Latin talent here because 35% of the population in Austin is Latino and we want to represent that with our bookings,” Phillips told the Statesman last year.

“The venues that are already here are important to the Austin music scene, and this venue is going to complement and grow it. I want to bring more Latin talent, more hip-hop and more things Austin doesn’t see every weekend.”
