The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the site of a tenth temple in Texas — the El Paso Texas Temple.
The future El Paso temple, announced in 2024, will be located at Northern Pass Drive and Paseo del Norte Boulevard in west El Paso.
The temple site will be 6.4-acre site, with the temple being a single-story structure of about 22,300 square feet.
It is “so exciting,” local church member Adam McDavitt told the Church News shortly after the temple was announced in 2024.
“We’ve been told by church leaders over the years that eventually there would be a temple in El Paso. … We are ready to grow the church in this part of the vineyard, and we have been praying for it.”
The church currently has 10 announced temples in Texas, of which:
Five are dedicated. Two are under construction. Two are in planning and design stages. One is scheduled for dedication in January 2027.
This new temple will help serve local members whose current nearest temple is the Ciudad Juárez Mexico Temple.
