The Texas Department of Public Safety has released video of a stolen vehicle chase that ended with a four-vehicle crash in downtown San Antonio in August.
In the video, which was released on X, formerly Twitter, a DPS Texas Anti-Gang Trooper can be seen pursing the white BMW toward downtown on Flores Street.
In the video, the BMW can be seen entering opposite lanes of traffic, even briefly going airborne over train tracks.
Later, after passing through an intersection, the vehicle side-swipes another vehicle at the Guadalupe Street intersection.
At the 43-second mark, the video cuts to the BMW attempting to pass through the Durango Boulevard — formerly Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard — intersection on a red light, but hits several vehicles and caused the crash.
Two women in a vehicle that was hit were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, DPS said in report after the crash.
The trooper can be seen approaching the crash with his gun in hand. Later, troopers pull the driver of the BMW from the vehicle and handcuff him. The suspect was later identified as Issac Mathew Trinidad, 28.
Trinidad, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash. He had an active parole warrant and was found with methamphetamines on his person, DPS said in its report.
While not immediately disclosed in its report after the crash, the video ends with at least three charges Trinidad faces: evading arrest with a vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance.
