“Marvel: The Exhibition – Universe of Super Heroes” will visit the Houston Museum of Natural Science, allowing Marvel fans to experience the world of their favorite superheroes. It features over 150 rare and original artifacts, including real Marvel Studios props and costumes as well as drawings and artwork by legendary comic artists including Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The exhibit opened in 2018 and has traveled to major institutions such as Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture, Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute and Charlotte’s Discovery Place Science. The exhibit offers history and context around the comics and characters of Marvel.

“We have attempted to tell three distinct but interconnected stories: the company and creators’ real-world history, the characters’ fictional in-world history, and the history of how Marvel has influenced—and been influenced by—the larger culture,” Chief Curator Ben Saunders said in a statement on the exhibit’s website.

The exhibit will display costumes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s movies and TV shows, including various Iron Man suits worn by Robert Downey Jr. and Academy Award-winning costumes from Black Panther. Life-sized statues of heroes like Spider-Man and Thor will be featured, as well as iconic comics like Marvel Comics #1 from 1939.

HMNS members can purchase tickets for the exhibit now through Oct. 25. Public tickets will be available for purchase on Oct. 26.

HMNS Member Preview is set for Dec. 18, with the exhibit’s public opening starting on Dec. 19.
