Noël Furniture is wrapping up its final days of a months-long going-out-of-business liquidation sale, officially closing the chapter on a 50-year story.
What happened?
Owner Tod Noël announced his retirement in June and the subsequent closure of his Houston showroom located off the Southwest Freeway.
“This is a profoundly meaningful moment for our family and for everyone who has been part of our story,” Noël said in a post on the business’s website. “For five decades, it has been our privilege to help clients create homes of beauty, warmth and distinction. We are deeply grateful for the trust our customers placed in us and for the friendships that have defined our business across generations.”
Some background
Noël Furniture originally opened around 1977, selling luxury and custom home furnishings such as designer sofas, dining tables, handmade rugs and statement art pieces. The store also carried interior design products and luxury brands, including Marge Carson, Elite Leather and Stone International.
“As we close this chapter and our showroom doors, we do so with immense pride,” Noël said. “The true legacy of Noël Furniture is found in the lives we have touched and the trust that designers and friends have extended to us over so many years.”
Noël Furniture’s last day will be Oct. 25. Until then, the showroom will continue its liquidation sale with savings ranging from 50% to 80% off.
Before you go
The 50,000-square-foot physical showroom was sold ahead of the liquidation sale. However, as of Oct. 20, the identity of the buyer or developer had not been publicly disclosed.
