LUBBOCK, Texas, TX (KCBD) – Former Lubbock County Constable C.J. Peterson announced Wednesday he is running for Lubbock County Commissioner, Precinct 4.
Peterson said he is committed to improving public safety and strengthening county infrastructure. He addressed his resignation from public office and personal changes since then.
“In 2018, I got a DWI and it was life changing for me and at that point I decided to resign to work on my health because at that time I was 640 pounds,” Peterson said. “Since then, I also started a small business a few months before that, so I decided to resign and concentrate on my health and my new company.”
Peterson is running as a Republican in next year’s election. Jordan Rackler, also a Republican, is the incumbent in Precinct 4 and is running for re-election.
The party primaries are in March.
