Man arrested, accused of murder in connection with road rage shooting on North Side, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested for murder in connection with a road rage shooting on the North Side this week, according to San Antonio police.

David Flores Oyervides III, 23, was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond, records show.

The shooting happened at around 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 11200 block of Belair Drive, not far from Lockhill Selma Road and NW Military Highway.

Upon arrival, SAPD said its officers found a 58-year-old man dead inside his vehicle.

According to a preliminary report, the victim had followed Oyervides back to his residence as the two men exchanged gunfire.

At some point, the department said that Oyervides returned to his home to get another gun.

The victim drove a short distance away as Oyervides continued to shoot, the report said. In a Monday news conference, police stated that the 58-year-old returned gunfire.

During the exchange, SAPD said the 58-year-old man was shot and killed. His name, cause and manner of death are pending from the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
