LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A stretch of pleasant weather will dominate Wednesday and Thursday before a slow-moving storm system brings rain chances back to the region this weekend into early next week.
Skies will remain sunny and dry through the next few days with temperatures gradually warming. Wednesday highs will reach around 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies with light southwest winds shifting to the south by afternoon. Overnight lows will dip to the mid to upper 50s with light southerly winds continuing.

Thursday will follow a similar pattern with continued warming and sunny conditions as upper ridging settles over the area. The quiet pattern will persist through Thursday before conditions change heading into the weekend.
Storm system brings wet weather
A slow-moving storm system tracking across the southwestern United States will bring precipitation chances back this weekend, with the highest rain chances expected to extend into early next week as models continue to slow the system’s progression. Recent showers across eastern New Mexico have mostly cleared and should not impact our area.
KCBD(KCBD)
While a low probability of severe weather exists with this system, the primary impacts will be increased cloud cover and precipitation chances. Temperatures will also turn cooler as the system moves through the region.
KCBD(KCBD)
A cold front will move through early next week, potentially marking a more significant shift in the weather pattern.
