A gathering earlier this week at a home in South Dallas ended in the death of a 19-year-old who was allegedly shot and killed by another 19-year-old, according to an arrest warrant affidavit from Dallas police.
Officers responded to the 2400 block of Harding Street at around 7 a.m. on Monday.
Officers arrived at the scene and discovered Brandon Fuller “unresponsive” in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Deyonte Rice was later arrested in connection with Fuller’s death and taken to the Dallas County jail and booked on a capital murder charge, according to police.

Four witnesses, the gunman and victim were inside the house where the shooting occurred.
The incident began, according to one of the witnesses, when a man at the home playing video games received a call from Rice asking for him to order an Uber to bring him to the house.
Rice arrived at the residence where the four witnesses and Fuller were and went to a bedroom.
At about 5:30 a.m. a witness told police that he woke up to the sound of Fuller being “pistol whipped” by Rice. Rice allegedly stood over Fuller and pointed a gun at him, resulting in Fuller firing a gun under his jacket and shooting Rice in the leg.
Rice allegedly returned fire by shooting Fuller in the head, the affidavit said.
One witness went to the living room and saw Fuller “slumped over on the couch,” the affidavit said. That man told another witness to take Fuller out of the house, and that unidentified man complied, taking Fuller to the roadway outside.
Rice, suffering from a gunshot wound, asked a woman at the home to take him to the hospital, but she refused, instead driving him to another location, the affidavit said.
Rice was arrested later by police but it was not clear where he was taken into custody.
It remains unclear what Rice and Fuller had been fighting about before they exchanged gunfire.
One of the people inside the home told a police detective over the phone that he had a handgun that was used during the killing.
The witness brought Rice’s gun to detectives and positively confirmed Rice was the same person he saw shoot and kill Fuller, the affidavit said.
None of the four other people inside the home who saw the incident were identified due to “safety reasons,” the affidavit said.
Jail records show Rice was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, and he remained in jail Wednesday night. His bail had not yet been set.
Additional information was not available, but police said the investigation is ongoing. They are asking that anyone with information on the incident contact Detective Theodore Gross at theodore.gross@dallaspolice.gov or 214-671-3143.
