Halloween is almost here! Time to grab yet another Spidey costume for your 9-year-old, hand him a trash bag, and let them loose for a little trick-or-treat magic with friends!

But where are the GOOD neighborhoods?

I don’t mean the fancy rich neighborhoods with the mythical FULL-SIZE candy bars. But where are the neighborhoods in Lubbock that typically keep their porch lights on and really participate?

Here are a few suggestions to get your money’s worth in candy for that third blue and red leotard:

Vintage Township

People rave about Vintage Township every Halloween. They are known for impressive decorations, big crowds, and other spooky festivities. KCBD did a story about hundreds of trick-or-treaters having a blast there with Halloween festivities in 2023, and I bet this year will be no different.

Tech Terrace

Traditional trick-or-treating in Tech Terrace is fantastic!

I grew up there, then lived there again as an adult, and it was really nostalgic for me during the Halloween season. It seemed just like the 90s. Almost every house handed out candy, and the streets were full of little ghosts and ghouls.

Melonie Park

This area is known for neighbors celebrating the Halloween season with cool decorations and being a great stop on the candy trail.

LakeRidge

In the 90s, trick-or-treating in LakeRidge was TOP NOTCH. Legend has it, you might even find a mythical full-size candy bar there.

Kids swore up and down they passed them out, but nobody ever really produced any evidence.

Who knows? Any candy is good candy in my book.

What’s missing from the list, Lubbock?

We’ve still got a few more days until the big day, and I’d love to add your neighborhood to this trick-or-treating list if you think Lubbock needs to know about it! You can reach me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.
