Richardson hosted a lighting ceremony Oct. 15 to mark the completion of Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line bridge over US 75.

The overview

DART’s Silver Line began rail service in October 2025, with a route that included a bridge passing over US 75 in Richardson, just south of President George Bush Turnpike.

Two 400-foot steel arches were installed over the bridge during the summer.

“The bridge serves as a gateway and visual branding for the city for both rail passengers and drivers on US 75,” a city news release states.

The blue and white accent lighting on the arches and concrete columns is designed to improve nighttime visibility and highlight the architecture of the design, Mobility Program Manager Daniel Herrig said at a May council meeting.
