Suspect arrested in connection with woman’s death in El Paso County

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) announced it has made an arrest after a woman was found dead on October 31.

Deputies said a call came in with a request for medical assistance at a home on the 4000 block of Loomis Avenue, near the Stratmoor Hills area.

Stratmoor Hills firefighters arrived at the home where they found a woman, identified by deputies as 38-year-old Yetzabel Quinones, dead. Firefighters deemed the death suspicious, and deputies responded to begin an investigation into Quinones’s death.

Deputies said the suspect, 32-year-old Cameron Burton, was arrested in connection with Quinones’s death on Tuesday.

They said the EPSO SWAT Team took Burton into custody in the 4200 block of Loomis Avenue on an arrest warrant for First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Robbery and First-Degree Burglary.

According to the sheriff’s office, this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community.
