EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — According to a report, the chairman of the Republican Party in El Paso plans to sue comedian Sacha Baron Cohen after he appeared in his latest satirical mockumentary.

According to a report by The Guardian, Michael Aboud wants to sue Baron Cohen, the satirical comedian of Borat fame, saying that he was tricked into appearing in his latest film, “Ali G: Who Iz I?”

Aboud– who you can see in the latest trailer of the film– appears to be part of a self-defense class imparted by Cohen, disguised and in character as a Col. Erran Morad, an ex-Mossad terrorist expert.

The class is meant for MAGA sympathizers and is said to feature outlandish-sounding exercises, such as Aboud– with a fellow student– kidnapping a pregnant woman who gives birth to the baby of a fictional South American drug lord and then using drones to dangle the baby and prevent it from touching U.S. soil.

The Guardian said they contacted Aboud on Tuesday, and in a statement called Baron Cohen “and his entire film crew a bunch of liars [who] deceive people to benefit themselves. They claimed that this would be a documentary about the illegals crossing the border. Then they said they were adding in this self-defense guy from Israel.”

The Guardian said they pressed Aboud to comment on whether he stands by his actions as they are depicted in the film, but Aboud reportedly declined to comment.

Below, you can watch the trailer, where you can see Aboud in a red T-shirt participating in said class.

In the scene depicted Baron Cohen– dressed as Morad– tells Aboud and the self-defense group to not be fooled by migrants, saying “[They]are not coming here to mow your lawn, trim your trees, rake your leaves, clean your house, care for your babies, bus your tables, wash your cars, paint your houses, build your fences, install your roofs, drywall, plumbing or electric. They are coming to kill you.”

KFOX14/CBS4 has reached out to Aboud for comment and have not heard back.
