According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, Saturday’s high is forecast to reach 85 degrees, with a low of 59.
By Sunday, daily high temperatures are forecast to dip back into the lower 80s to upper 70s, according to the weather service.
According to the weather service, Dallas-Fort Worth’s recent warmer weather is being driven by a ridge of high pressure that is forecast to lessen by Monday and Tuesday.
The ridge is quite strong for late October standards, leading to “unseasonably warm afternoon highs,” the weather service said in its Friday afternoon forecast.
High temperatures for this time of year typically average around the mid-70s, according to the weather service’s historical records.
Forecasters are also watching a cold front that could approach North Texas later next week, potentially bringing rainy weather closer to Halloween festivities.
