EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A key figure behind the return of the Amigo Airsho to El Paso is now being permanently honored at Fort Bliss.
The air traffic control tower at Biggs Army Airfield has been named for retired Maj. Mike Dean Lister.
Fort Bliss officials said the tribute recognizes Lister’s 20 years of service in the Army and his continued work as a civilian at Fort Bliss.

“He was an absolute rock of our community. He’s a big reason that the Amigo Airsho came back in 2024. He was a phenomenal man, a phenomenal officer– a civilian that made a tremendous impact across this installation. And so today, it’s absolutely fitting,” Soyka said.
The Amigo Airsho is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Biggs Army Airfield on Fort Bliss. Gates open at 9 a.m. both days.
Also, Amigo Airsho organizers said that due to the weather, some times and flight schedules may be adjusted during the show on the weekend and recommend spectators bring umbrellas and dress appropriately.
