Saturday’s Injury Report
After not practicing on Friday with a knee injury, tight end Dallas Goedert was a full participant on Saturday and is cleared for Monday night’s game against the Cowboys. Goedert said that he reaggravated his knee against the Panthers last week on the pass interference call that got the Eagles into the red zone. The ninth-year tight end sustained a knee injury against the Titans in Week 2 and missed two games before returning in Week 5.
“It’s just kind of the same injury that I sustained earlier. I just had a little bit of inflammation in there, had to let that settle down, but felt really good running out there today,” Goedert said after Saturday’s practice. “I want to be out there anytime I can. We only get 17 games. To miss a game, to miss two games, it always stinks. So if I can be available, I’m going to do everything I can to play.
“I’m going to go out there and do whatever I can to help the team win, whether it’s run blocking, pass blocking, or hopefully get a couple catches. We’re looking forward to this game playing on Monday night against the division rival. It’s going to be a lot of fun. The atmosphere’s going to be great and it’s a game I wouldn’t want to miss.”
Two of the Eagles’ top receivers, DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), have been ruled out, leaving rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon as the primary wide receiver option.
“It’s definitely a big opportunity with the team,” Lemon said. “I’m just super excited to go out there with the guys, put on a good performance. Had a great week of practice with all the guys. So, just trying to go out there and execute. A couple guys are out. So really just, next man up. I got a bunch of trust in the guys next to me, trust in the coaches and the game plan.”
Wide receiver Hollywood Brown (ankle) was a full participant at practice and could be another receiving option for quarterback Tanner McKee.
Running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring) took a step forward and was a full participant at practice on Saturday after being limited previously in the week. The running back is listed as questionable for Monday night.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Greenard (ankle), who did not practice again on Saturday, is listed as questionable. The edge rusher said it will be a game-time decision as he will need to see how his ankle feels.
“It’s one of those ankle sprains. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they can just linger on and just little stuff like that,” Greenard said. “I haven’t dealt with an ankle (sprain) this long in an instance, but I do see a light in the tunnel.”
Alongside Greenard, the outside linebacker room is banged up. Jalyx Hunt (knee/ankle) could return on Monday as he is listed as questionable after practicing in a limited capacity all week. Nolan Smith (concussion) has been officially ruled out. Smith is joined by defensive back Michael Carter II (abdomen).
Cornerback Jakorian Bennett, tight end Grant Calcaterra, guard Landon Dickerson, and tight end Eli Stowers all participated fully in practice on Saturday. They are all listed as questionable since they are on Injured Reserve and would need to be activated by Monday afternoon in order to play against the Cowboys.
