LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Rain and storms are moving into the region this morning.
The same storm system is responsible for heavy rain and flooding in New Mexico is now making its way toward West Texas.
Showers and storms will continue spreading across the South Plains this morning. Most areas will see less than an inch of rain, but some spots northwest of Lubbock could pick up 1 to 2 inches. The biggest concern is storms moving over the same areas repeatedly, which could lead to localized flooding.
Don’t expect much sunshine today. Thick clouds will keep temperatures in the 60s, with breezy south winds.

Rain chances should ease up this afternoon, but we’re not quite done. Another round of showers could develop tonight, mainly west and northwest of Lubbock.
