Gov. Abbott coming to Lubbock for October 30 get-out-the-vote event

Gov. Greg Abbott will visit Lubbock on Friday, October 30, for a get-out-the-vote event, a source close to the governor’s office tells Lubbock Lights.

An online invitation lists a 12:15 p.m. start at The Funky Door Bistro & Wine Room, 6801 Milwaukee Avenue.

Abbott’s campaign has not independently confirmed the appearance to Lubbock Lights.

The TicketLeap listing identifies Texans for Greg Abbott as the organizer and describes the event as free and family-friendly, with food and light refreshments provided. It says Abbott will discuss the election and encourage Republican turnout.

It was not immediately clear whether attendance is by invitation only.

October 30 is the final day of early voting. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.

Lubbock Lights will update this story as additional details are confirmed.
