Miranda Lambert is returning to her home state of Texas to perform and raise money for the Salvation Army at the Dallas Cowboys’ annual Thanksgiving game.

“There’s something special about how music brings people together, especially when it’s to spread joy and hope to families who need it most,” the country superstar from Longview, Texas, said.

Lambert will perform at halftime of the Cowboys’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles at AT&T Stadium to raise awareness of the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign, which helps people in need during the holidays.

“The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys have built an incredible tradition with the Red Kettle Kickoff, and I can’t wait to be back home in Texas this Thanksgiving to help carry it forward,” she continued.

This year marks The Salvation Army’s 136th Red Kettle Campaign. The Cowboys will host the 30th consecutive Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show on Thanksgiving. The campaign has raised over $3 billion, providing food, shelter, and support to millions of people nationwide.

In a comical video teaser, Lambert arrives at AT&T Stadium for a rehearsal with the Dallas Cowboys’ cheerleaders riding a steer with mini red kettles on each side, and comments, “What, it’s the 30th anniversary. You gotta take the bull by the horns.”

Reba McEntire headlined the inaugural show in 1997, followed annually by numerous stars including Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child, and the late Dolly Parton.

This year, Lambert is celebrating her 25th anniversary as a recording artist. “The House That Built Me” singer is the most awarded artist in Academy of Country Music Awards history, with 40 ACM honors. This year, she won Song of the Year and Single of the Year as co-writer and co-producer of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.”
