A San Antonio Police Department officer turned himself in to authorities after allegedly injuring a female child on three separate occasions in 2024, officials said.
A Bexar County grand jury indicted Officer Jacob Ryan, 32, on Nov. 6, court records show.
Ryan turned himself in Tuesday, where he was charged with three counts of injury to a child, according to an SAPD news release.
His bond was set at $10,000, records show. He has since posted bail and was released from jail.
A judge ordered Ryan to have no contact with the victim and prohibited him from possessing, owning, using, or purchasing any firearms. He was also placed on full house arrest and required to wear a GPS monitor, records show.

In an indictment obtained by the San Antonio Express-News, Ryan allegedly “caused bodily injury” to a female child younger than 14 years old in February, March, and June of 2024.
Ryan allegedly struck the child with his hand in all three incidents, and in the March case, he also hit the female child with an unspecified object, the indictment stated.
Ryan, a five-year veteran assigned to the Patrol Division, has been placed on administrative duty while an internal investigation is underway, according to an SAPD news release.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is leading the criminal investigation.
