EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Golfers hoping to tee off at Ascarate this week will have to wait as crews repair damage left by a recent hailstorm.

El Paso County said the Ascarate golf course will be closed for the week while the golf maintenance team fills holes caused by hail on the greens and on newly emerging ryegrass at Delta Nine.

The County estimated the repairs will cost about $1,500 to $2,000, not including labor, and said the work will be paid for through the golf course maintenance budget.

The County also said it expects to lose revenue because of the closure.
