HORIZON CITY, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Floodwaters pushed into a Horizon City neighborhood Monday, prompting evacuations as authorities worked to determine what caused the sudden inundation.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that seven homes had been evacuated as of Monday afternoon. The flooding was first reported near Kila Street and Horizon Boulevard.

Information remained limited, but the El Paso County Emergency Services District No. 2 said it is investigating. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said officials believe the flooding may be due to a dam in a desert area that breached.
