“Serving Texas Baptist Institute for over 50 years has been a journey of learning, hard work, and together building a great school to equip, advance, and fulfill,” Butler said last week. “I have decided to step down as the President and CEO of Texas Baptist Institute. This is a very difficult decision, and it has not been made lightly,”
Butler will serve as president emeritus, while Wallace serves as interim president for the rest of of the 2026-2027 school year.
“I know Texas Baptist Institute is on the right track and I trust the Administration, Staff, and Board to continue its success into the future,” Butler said. “God has greatly blessed me during my years at TBI, and I would ask you to continue to pray for the school and for my family and me.”
Wallace has been with TBI since 2001. He has his bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas, a bachelor of theology degree and doctor of theology degree from Texas Baptist Institute & Seminary and his master of arts degree in ministry leadership from Crown College. He also enjoys hunting and kayaking with his wife.
