A European Christmas tradition with a Texas welcome returns to Arlington this November. The 16th annual Texas Christkindl Market will bring handcrafted gifts, German food and drinks, live performances and family festivities to the North Plaza of Globe Life Field, in the heart of Arlington’s Entertainment District from Nov. 20-22, 2026, and from Nov. 27-Dec. 23, 2026. With festive ‘snowfall’ almost every day, the market offers a little extra holiday magic for visitors of all ages. Admission is free, and the market will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Season highlights include the annual tree lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, complimentary holiday photos with St. Nikolaus on select dates, and Fur Family Fridays, when visitors can bring their four-legged friends for a holiday photo. Children can also drop their holiday wish lists and letters into the market’s special red mailbox. On Dec. 5, Krampus returns with a little mischief inspired by German folklore, adding another unique tradition to the market’s holiday celebrations.
Inspired by Arlington’s more than 75-year relationship with its German sister city, Bad Königshofen, and its connection to its friendship city Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the market
brings European holiday customs to Arlington’s Entertainment District. Since its debut in 2011, it has become a favorite holiday gathering place for families and visitors from across Texas and beyond.
“The Texas Christkindl Market is all about bringing people together to celebrate the magic of the holiday season,” said Henry Lewczyk, longtime manager of the Texas Christkindl Market. “We’re proud to share the traditions and flavors of Germany while creating a festive experience where families and friends can make lasting holiday memories. Whether it’s your first visit or an annual tradition, we look forward to welcoming guests from Arlington and across Texas to celebrate with us again this year.”
Twinkling lights, festive market lanes and the aroma of seasonal treats set the scene for an outing that goes well beyond the shopping list. Visitors can meet local and international artisans and browse distinctive ornaments, collectibles, specialty chocolates, handcrafted goods and cozy apparel. Shoppers can also discover exclusive Käthe Wohlfahrt merchandise from the Rothenburg ob der Tauber German Christmas village.
German favorites such as schnitzel and bratwurst, along with funnel cakes and mugs of Glühwein, traditional German hot spiced wine, give visitors plenty of reasons to come hungry and stay awhile. Throughout the season, live music, dancing and performances by local schools, musicians and cultural groups will fill the market with holiday cheer.
Free parking is available in the Texas Rangers’ Lot B next to the market on days when events are not taking place at Globe Life Field or AT&T Stadium.
With free admission, festive entertainment, unique shopping and cherished holiday traditions, the Texas Christkindl Market invites visitors to gather with friends and family while celebrating Arlington’s 150th anniversary as part of the City’s yearlong anniversary festivities.
