Lochland’s Irish Pub will host a launch party for Lake Highlands High grad Cindy Ubben Causey’s newest book, Windshadow. The romantic suspense novel is the first in her new four-book Widow Women Mysteries series.

Causey’s previous five novels have been centered squarely in the romance genre, so writing the Widow Women Mysteries has been a departure she was eager to tackle. Set in exotic foreign locales, each book leads a different woman into danger, romance and a thrilling new life chapter.

Windshadow begins with Dawn Winter, a grieving American widow whose car breaks down in a raging storm on Ireland’s western coast. Should she accept the help of a reclusive German innkeeper as she works to discover her roots? Can they join forces to unravel long-buried family secrets before Dawn becomes the next victim in a deadly game of murder and deceit?

Causey will be selling and signing books on the patio at Lochland’s from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. There’ll be free food, drawings and giveaways. Her books may also be purchased on Amazon.com.

Lochland’s Irish Pub is at 8518 Plano Road.
