San Antonio rapper Lil’ Lucky is getting a taste of the spotlight alongside Memphis hip-hop legend Project Pat in a new music video inspired by one of Southern rap’s most recognizable hits.
The two artists teamed up with Church’s Texas Chicken for “Chickahhhn,” an original song and music video that premiered Tuesday on the restaurant chain’s YouTube channel.
The collaboration began after Lil’ Lucky went viral on social media with his own Church’s Chicken-inspired rendition of Project Pat’s 2001 hit “Chickenhead,” featuring Three 6 Mafia and La Chat.

The result was “Chickahhhn,” a nostalgic music video featuring classic cars, throwback visuals and Church’s vintage logo. It blends Southern hip-hop with the nearly 75-year-old restaurant chain.
Now, Lil’ Lucky is bringing the celebration back to his hometown.
In a Facebook post, the San Antonio rapper announced he will appear at Church’s Texas Chicken at 3119 S.W. Military Drive on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. He plans to sign customers’ Church’s Chicken boxes.
“MEET ME AT Church’s Texas Chicken NOVEMBER 1 THIS SUNDAY,” Lil’ Lucky wrote, inviting fans to stop by.
“At Church’s, bringing people together is an important part of our DNA, and that goes beyond the food we serve,” Church’s CEO Roland Gonzalez said in a statement. “Music is a powerful way to connect with people and celebrate the culture that makes our communities special.”
The partnership follows other hip-hop collaborations by Church’s, including a recent appearance by New Orleans rap legends Juvenile and Mannie Fresh at a Chicago restaurant, where they surprised customers by helping serve lunch orders.
Church’s has San Antonio roots of its own. Founder George W. Church Sr. opened the first Church’s Fried Chicken-To-Go stand at 111 S. Alamo St. in 1952. A city historic marker near the former stand honors the chain’s beginnings in San Antonio.
