The life of Wayne Cashion is an example of a life well lived. Wayne was born April 30, 1956, and used an ICU hospital bed in Fort Worth Texas as his jumping off spot to his heavenly home on Oct. 22, 2026. He was a young 70 year old. Raised on the east side of Fort Worth by his widowed mother and her extended family of brothers, sisters, his older brother Bill and many cousins, Wayne was a proud graduate of Eastern Hills High School, class of 1974. He graduated from Texas State Technical Institute in Waco with an Associates degree in Electronics. He worked for a computer chip manufacturing company in Carrollton for many years, followed by some shorter stints at other companies. He dabbled as a real estate agent for a few years, then became part owner and operator of a scrap metal/steel sales company for 17 years. Most important in his life were his favorite interests and hobbies including hunting, scuba diving, and his precious Possum Kingdom Lake. He served on many charitable organization boards and their fundraising activities. When the American Diabetes Association was organized under separate state affiliates, he was the last Texas Affiliate chairman. He served on the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo parade committee for almost 30 years. He was loved by his lake community, family and many friends. Always willing to help, he could fix anything. While he was known to some as Pepino, a more common name was Plain Wayne. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Cashion, mother Dorothy Cashion and brother Bill. Wayne is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol Cashion; his niece Shavon Harris (husband Brock and children Raylee Wayne and Fletcher Dean); nephew Sean Cashion (children Sean Daniel and Lana Grace); and niece Mariah Gagnon (husband Greg and children Gregory Paul Jr and Claire Marie).
