Seven Lake Highlands High School students committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level earlier this week.
According to a Richardson ISD release, no other district high school had more athletes sign as the NCAA Early Signing Period opened Wednesday. The period runs through Nov. 19. Pearce came in second with four students committing, followed by Richardson, from which Claire Morrison was the sole commit. Berkner did not have any students declare on Wednesday.
The student athletes, including volleyball standout and area stat leader Elle Holley, committed to prestigious athletic programs including the University of Kentucky, San Diego State and Brown University.
The seven commits are:
Dani Chaump – Girls Soccer, University of Kentucky
Owen Faris – Boys Soccer, San Diego State University
Elle Holley – Volleyball, Brown University
Reeves Hardt – Baseball, Oklahoma Baptist University
Hailey Jacobus – Volleyball, United States Naval Academy
Quinn Melson – Baseball, Abilene Christian University
Jordis Watkins – Diving, Georgia Southern University
