LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A cold front moved through the area Thursday, ushering in chilly conditions Friday morning with widespread temperatures in the 30s across most areas.
KCBD(KCBD)
Despite the frigid start, Friday is shaping up to be a pleasant day. Light and variable winds combined with clear skies overnight will keep temperatures cool, but a weak ridge of high pressure and sunny skies throughout much of Friday will warm things up during the afternoon hours. Highs are expected to reach the low to mid 60s — about a degree or two warmer than Thursday.
KCBD(KCBD)
Winds will continue to diminish as the cold front moves farther away, keeping conditions comfortable for outdoor activities.
KCBD(KCBD)Weekend outlook
Cooler conditions will persist through the weekend, with a slight chance of light rain developing Saturday for southern portions of the South Plains and Rolling Plains. Those in northern areas should expect to remain dry.
KCBD(KCBD)Next week
Temperatures will gradually warm as we head into next week, moving away from the cooler pattern that has settled in over the past few days.
