CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A longtime downtown favorite welcomed guests back Thursday night as Cassidy’s Irish Pub celebrated the grand re-opening of its newly renovated space on Water Street.
The pub, which never fully closed during construction, used funds from the Downtown TIRZ streetscape reimbursement program to help with upgrades inside and out. Owner Michael Treiber said nearly every part of the venue was refreshed.
“The flooring, the ceiling, the walls, all new paint, all new tile, new carpet. The outside has been completely ripped off and redid the whole new facade, new stucco, new lighting outside, new speakers, new cameras, and literally everything has been redone,” Treiber said.
Despite the extensive work, he emphasized that the signature feel of the historic Irish pub remains intact. “It still has the same charm that it used to but it’s just a little shinier and newer,” he said.
The renovations were completed ahead of next year’s St. Patrick’s Day festival, one of Cassidy’s signature annual events. Until then, the pub is inviting the community to stop by and check out its refreshed look — and enjoy a pint.
