DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The hunt is on across the Wiregrass for a Florida teen wanted in connection with an armed robbery near Dothan.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 16-year-old Devonta Balcom, of Campbellton, Florida.
While WDHN does not typically release the identity of juveniles, investigators say he is considered “armed and dangerous,” and the HCSO received permission from a judge to release Balcom’s name and photo.
Balcom is wanted on one count of robbery in the first degree, a felony.
The alleged robbery occurred during the early morning hours of October 30 in the 5000 block of Third Avenue.
During the robbery, investigators say Balcom fired at least one shot at a victim before fleeing.
Balcom has family in Dothan and Campbellton, and he spends time in Graceville, Florida, according to the HCSO.
