The 2025 Texas high school state football playoffs kicked off Thursday night, including six Central Texas bi-district matchups that included one all-area matchup: the Dripping Springs Tigers beat the Vista Ridge Panthers to advance in Class 6A Division II.

There are more than a dozen games on tap Friday night, headlined by one of the top first-round matchups in the state: Westlake, which was a Class 6A Division I state finalist last year, meets Vandegrift, the defending Class 6A Division II state champion. Other all-area matchups include Lake Travis vs. Round Rock and Bowie vs. Hutto.
