Former NBA guard Patrick Beverley was arrested in Texas this week on a third-degree felony charge of assault, according to records viewed by The Post.
TMZ was first to report Beverley’s arrest, adding that he was taken into custody in Fort Bend County and was booked on the family-violence charge.
He posted $40,000 bond.

Jail records indicate that the alleged assault was on a family/household member and impeded breath or circulation.
Details surrounding the alleged incident have not yet been made public.
A third-degree felony in Texas carries a potential penalty of two to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Beverley took to social media after reports of his arrest.

“Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well Luv,” he wrote on X.
While the veteran guard has had past disciplinary run-ins — including NBA suspensions for confronting fans and media — he has no public record of prior violent felony arrests.
He was, however, arrested in 2015 over an unpaid toll violation after a traffic stop.
A lawyer for the former NBAer told TMZ that he’s ready to tell his side of the story in court.
“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record, attorney Letitia Quinones-Hollins told TMZ. “He cares deeply about his little sister — a young lady, a minor. Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court.”
Beverley last played in the NBA in 2024 and later signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv last summer to play in the Israeli Basketball Premier League and in the EuroCup.

Beverley parted ways with the organization in February and didn’t finish his season in Europe.
The 37-year-old guard made three All-Defensive teams throughout his NBA career and played in the league from 2012 to 2024 after an earlier stint in Europe.
