UT San Antonio’s Center for Public Opinion Research appears to show that Bexar County voters support Project Marvel.
According to the poll, 45% of voters were in favor of the proposed new entertainment district, with 40% saying they were against it.
When it came to the specific issue of the proposed new Spurs arena, it was a little closer. When it came to designating venue tax funds for the construction of the arena, 46% of people said they were against that. Another 15% said they were unsure of how they’d vote.
In a statement on the poll, UTSA Professor Bryan Gervais said, “Support for ballot propositions is always very fluid, especially in this case where the subject matter—a venue tax—is pretty dense, and there are organized campaigns looking to change minds and mobilize voters in the run-up to the election.”
