Lake Travis rolled. So did Dripping Springs. And Vandegrift survived.

Those were just a few of the storylines from the first weekend of the high school state playoffs. It should be noted that three Pflugerville schools — Pflugerville, Weiss and Connally — advanced as well. The best game was arguably Weiss’s 42-35 win over La Porte. The Wolves outscored the Bulldogs 28-0 in the second half to salvage their season.
