STILLWATER – Oklahoma State rolled to an 85-69 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon to give the Pokes their first 4-0 start since the 2020-21 season.

Steve Lutz met with the media following the game to discuss the win.

“Obviously, a fun afternoon of basketball, a little bit bittersweet, selfishly on my part, because you never want to have to go against friends,” Steve Lutz said of the game against his former team. “But in the big picture of things, it was a good day. You know, we were able to help Corpus Christi in funding portions of their program by having them come over and and then also fun to watch, you know, a good friend of mine be on the sideline and head that program.

“So, really fun for a lot of things, but then, you know, as you zero in on our basketball team, there were stretches where I thought that we were pretty good defensively, and we’ve got to figure out a way now to get that to be 40 minutes if we’re going to be the sort of team that we want to be.”
