Starship Bagel is putting North Texas on the map and giving New York a run for its money.

DALLAS — New York City is the bagel capital of the world, but a Texas-based business just beat them at their own game on home turf, again!

Dallas’ Starship Bagel went to New York BagelFest 2025 and took home first place for “Best Bagel.” 

Starship is no stranger to BagelFest success. In 2023, the Dallas restaurant won the Best Bagel award for the first time, and in 2024, it earned first place in the “Schmear of the Year” category. 

Competitors from 13 states and three other countries converged on Citi Field for this year’s event. Just like the past two years, Starship stood alone as the only representative from Texas at the competition.

Owner Oren Salomon started Starship in 2021 with a Lewisville storefront and has now expanded into three locations, including North Dallas and Downtown Dallas.

Since its founding, Starship has quickly made a name for itself, earning national recognition not only through BagelFest but also through an appearance on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and a nomination in the 2025 James Beard Awards.
