If you thought last year’s Lubbock Light Park was something special, just wait until you see what they’ve got in store this season! The locally owned and family-run drive-through Christmas light spectacular is coming back to the South Plains Mall (between Home Depot and the movie theater at 6002 Slide Rd) for its second season, running November 2nd through December 27th, 2025.

After a wildly successful debut last year, the event’s creators—two local families who call Lubbock home—decided to go all in for 2025. They’ve expanded the show by 50%, added brand-new light scenes, and synced everything to an updated soundtrack of classic and modern holiday tunes. Think more lights, more sparkle, and a whole lot more Christmas spirit.

Lubbock Light ParkA Local Family’s Dream Come True
What makes this event extra special isn’t just the glow—it’s the heart behind it. Lubbock Light Park was founded by Zach and Grace Maldonado and their close family partners, all parents themselves who wanted to bring some hometown magic to the Hub City.
Zach Maldonado said via press release:
As parents ourselves, we wanted to create something magical right here in Lubbock. This year, we’ve gone bigger in every way—more lights, more music, more magic. It’s our way of giving families a tradition they can come back to year after year.
This is truly a homegrown holiday experience—from Lubbock families, for Lubbock families.

A quick heads-up: vehicles under 9 feet tall and 26 feet long will fit through just fine. So, your SUV or pickup is good to go—but sorry, no buses, limos, trailers, or sleighs (Santa’s on his own for this one).
