The timing couldn’t be better for San Antonians staring down holiday meal planning: After a hiatus, Farmhouse Delivery has relaunched in Alamo City, offering everything from ready-to-bake King Ranch casserole to pasture-raised turkeys for the holiday meal.

The Austin-based service pressed pause in May 2024 to strengthen its relationships with Texas farms and ranches and make other business improvements. It slowly started redelivering in December 2024 before fully resuming Austin deliveries in April. San Antonio operations will start back up on November 21.

Founder Stephanie Scherzer started Farmhouse Delivery to sell off the bumper crop from her East Austin urban farm, Rain Lily. Since then, it has grown into a force, funneling more than $25 million into the local food economy and becoming a pipeline between small farms and Texas households.

“We’re thrilled to be back doing what we love — strengthening our local food ecosystem and bringing high-quality, sustainable food to our neighbors’ tables,” says Scherzer in a statement.

Farmhouse 2.0 is a little different from what it was in years past. While it still offers seasonal vegetables like sweet potatoes and collard greens, Farmhouse has expanded its in-house scratch kitchen. The offerings now include convenience foods like cubed roasted chicken breast and premade rice to frozen dinners like pork al pastor tamales.

What hasn’t changed is Farmhouse’s commitment to sustainability. Not only do they work with ecologically minded farmers, but they have also committed to operating with less than two percent food waste.

“At Farmhouse, we’re building a more sustainable food system by partnering with farmers who practice methods that honor the land, from regenerative agriculture to humane animal husbandry,” Scherzer explains.

Starting November 21, San Antonio customers can receive doorstep deliveries every Friday. More details can be found at farmhousedelivery.com.
