If you’ve ever cursed the long waits at Bird Bird Biscuit’s Manor Road patio, your prayers have been answered. The Austin favorite has opened its third location at 2121 S. Lamar Blvd., offering more space, a sunny outdoor patio and the same biscuit sandwiches that have earned it cult status.
This new location is a breezy, outdoor-first setup, with ordering at a counter and pickup from a window — perfect for a sunny morning or a casual weekend hangout. With 30 patio seats, it’s the kind of space that encourages lingering over biscuits, house-made jams, or a cup of iced tea. Positioned right across from Loro and Uncle Nicky’s, it keeps the South Lamar food scene lively while staying distinctly Bird Bird.
The South Lamar spot is already proving itself as one of the city’s best patios. Music sets the mood — think Solange spinning while you wait — making it easy to sink into the sunshine. Co-owner and chef Brian Batch told the American-Statesman the patio at Manor always fills up, and they were looking for a bigger space. This spot hits that mark while keeping the neighborhood charm intact. Catch them on the weekend after a late night out, and it just might save you from a nasty hangover.
The Firebird biscuit sandwich is a standout: spicy fried chicken, dill mayo, cilantro and sweet pickles tucked into a fluffy biscuit. The house gravy is another must-try, perfectly seasoned and just thick enough to impress. Vegetarians aren’t left out, with options like the Impossible Biscuitarian and the Little Dipper grilled cheese biscuit. Classic biscuit sandwiches like the Queen Beak, Bird Bird Bacon and Theodore round out the lineup, alongside the cinnamon-sugar of the Dough-Doughs and drinks like strawberry lemonade or apricot iced tea. They also offer house-made jams.
Expect to pay $11–$13 for the fried chicken biscuit sandwiches, $4–$6 for biscuits and sides, and $2–$4 for drinks. Considering the quality of the food, the thoughtful seasoning and the sunny patio setting, Bird Bird Biscuit is well worth it.
