KYLE, Texas — PAWS Shelter of Central Texas has announced the temporary closure of its Kyle Campus, effective Oct. 31, due to financial challenges exacerbated by the current economic climate.

The shelter cited the high costs of running the facility, including veterinary care, food, supplies, and utilities, as reasons for the closure in a Facebook post.

Despite the closure, PAWS remains committed to its mission of caring for animals.

“Our mission remains the same as it has for 40 years, and we will stay committed to our dogs and cats, so please do not worry about them,” the shelter stated.

Animals not adopted or fostered by the end of the month will be transferred to the Dripping Springs Campus, which will remain operational, the shelter said.

PAWS emphasized its role as a community pillar for nearly four decades and expressed its determination to reopen the Kyle location. “We are not giving up! We are determined to turn things around and raise the funds to open our Kyle doors once again,” the shelter said, urging community support through adoption, fostering, or donations.

So far, the community has donated more than $6,300 to help aid in the shelter’s efforts to continue to work. If you wish to donate, click here.
