CANYON, Texas (KFDA) – The West Texas A&M Buffs have been selected to participate in the 2025 Heritage Bowl Powered by Riot against Arkansas Tech on Saturday, Dec. 6 at Corsicana ISD’s Tiger Stadium in Corsicana, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
West Texas A&M finished the regular season with a 7-4 overall record and 7-2 in the Lone Star Conference.
Head coach Josh Lynn’s third season has brought historic success for the Buffs, marking the most wins for WT since 2012. The seven wins allowed them to finish the regular season bowl eligible.
The Buffaloes are making their seventh bowl game appearance in program history. Their first bowl game was in 1950 against Cincinnati. The last time they participated in a bowl game was the Kanza Bowl against Central Missouri in 2011, winning 26-7.
Heritage Bowl matchup
The Buffs will face Arkansas Tech on December 6. This will be the first time the Wonder Boys and the Buffs have played against each other in football.
Arkansas Tech finished with a 7-4 record in the Great American Conference under coach Rot Thompson.
The Heritage Bowl began in 2017. The most recent game featured Central Missouri against UT Permian Basin in 2024, with Central Missouri winning 39-37 in overtime.
