SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of kidnapping a woman connected to a now-canceled CLEAR Alert was arrested during a raid on a Northwest Side motel, according to San Antonio police.
The raid happened around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at a Motel 6 in the 9400 block of Wurzbach Road, not far from Interstate 10.
SAPD confirmed the incident was connected to the CLEAR Alert issued Wednesday for 27-year-old Destiny Rose Ferdin, who had been kidnapped from an apartment complex near downtown San Antonio.
Authorities surrounded the location, and a search warrant was obtained after they believed Ferdin and the suspect were there, a SAPD preliminary report said.
A SWAT team entered a room at the motel and arrested 35-year-old Geoffrey Garcia. Ferdin was also found in the room and taken to the hospital for injuries sustained during the kidnapping, police said.
Officers booked Garcia for the kidnapping, and the CLEAR Alert was canceled early Thursday.
SAPD said its investigation is ongoing.
