PLANO, Texas — The Plano Fire Department responded to several house fires early Thursday morning, officials said. They believe lightning was the cause.

In a social media post Thursday, the Plano Fire Department said its crews responded to multiple house fires accross Plano. The fires followed a line of thunderstorms, which caused heavy rain to fall across North Texas.

Lightning is suspected to have sparked the fires, but the fires remain under investigation, officials said.

Another line of storms is expected to move through North Texas on Thursday, and a flash flood watch is in effect until Thursday evening.Â
