Dallas Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were not on the field for the team’s first offensive series of the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night, which prompted endless speculation as to why the two star pass-catchers were benched.
There was even a rumor that Lamb was seen vomiting outside of a casino after curfew, but the 26-year-old set the record straight on Thursday, stating that he and Pickens were having dinner and drinks at the Red Rock Casino in Vegas and missed curfew before the game, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.

He added that no vomiting occurred and that it was disrespectful to even suggest that he did.
Lamb ended up logging five catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in what ended up being a 33-16 win. Pickens was even more dominant, snaring nine balls for 144 yards and a score. So clearly, Brian Schottenheimer’s decision to sit both receivers for the opening drive was a no-harm, no-foul situation.

On the season overall, Lamb has played in seven games, missing some time due to an ankle injury. During his time on the field, he has totaled 40 receptions for 557 yards while reaching the end zone twice.
Oddly enough, Lamb has essentially been relegated to the secondary option behind Pickens this year, with Pickens having already hauled in 58 grabs for 908 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 contests.
Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension with the Cowboys in August 2024.
The former first-round pick has posted four straight 1,000-yard campaigns, topping out at 1,749 yards in 2023. He has earned four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances while also notching a First-Team All-Pro selection.
